Rooted in Europe, Symbiosis and Growth: EVE Energy to Share Large Cylindrical Battery Technology and ESG Strategy, Promoting Synergy in the China-Europe Automotive Industry

In recent years, with the continuous surge in demand for high-performance batteries in the new energy vehicle market, large cylindrical battery technology has become a key area of strategic focus for leading global automakers. At the upcoming the 2nd Europe-China New Energy Vehicle Technology Conference, EVE Energy, a representative enterprise in the field of large cylindrical batteries, has confirmed its attendance. Dr. Richard Zhang, Managing Director of EVE Germany, has been invited to deliver a keynote speech titled “Rooted in Europe, Symbiosis and Growth”. During his address, Dr. Zhang will highlight the advancements and strengths of EVE’s large cylindrical batteries as well as the company’s ESG strategy, contributing to the transformation and upgrading of the passenger vehicle industry.

EVE Energy: Technological Highlights and ESG Strategic Deployment
1. Technology Leadership — “Omni All-Round Battery” Empowers Global High-End Electric Mobility
As the first Chinese company to achieve mass production and installation of 46-series large cylindrical batteries, EVE Energy continues to push the boundaries of battery performance through multiple core technological breakthroughs, redefining industry standards. The company has overcome key technical challenges such as low-temperature performance, high-precision grouping, and welding processes. Its products offer core advantages including in-situ upgradability, standardization, zero expansion, and intrinsic safety, effectively balancing standardized and customized demands to provide global customers with highly reliable, all-scenario lithium battery solutions.
During R&D, EVE Energy successfully overcame four major “technical mountains”. Addressing the common industry challenge of low-temperature performance degradation, the company achieved breakthroughs in ultra-fast charging at low temperatures, low internal resistance, system insulation, and transient heating through four years of dedicated effort. These innovations enable the cells to charge from 10% to 80% SOC within 25 minutes at -30°C, with a 20% improvement in low-temperature range.
In grouping technology, EVE ensures dimensional precision with verticality controlled within 200μm and horizontal positioning accuracy within 250μm, guaranteeing consistent thermal interface impedance and uniform temperature distribution, thereby laying a solid foundation for welding processes. Its high-precision welding achieves a depth accuracy of 80μm with PPB-level reliability, excellent current-carrying capacity, high structural strength, and full-life cycle durability.
Additionally, the company’s self-developed full-domain foaming technology precisely controls foaming temperature and ratio to achieve high density and ultra-high stiffness. The battery pack’s torsional stiffness exceeds 15,000 N·m, contributing to vehicle chassis stiffness of over 50,000 μm.
The “Omni All-Round Battery” entered mass production and was installed in vehicles in 2023. As of July 2025, cumulative installations have exceeded 64,000 units, with a single vehicle reaching a maximum mileage of 260,000 kilometers—maintaining a industry record of zero safety incidents and zero major quality defects. Mass production and delivery scale ranks first in China.
EVE Energy has established partnerships with leading automakers including BMW and Changan. In addition to its Shenyang base, the company is actively advancing the construction of its Hungarian plant, which has a planned capacity of 30 GWh and is set to commence production in 2026. BMW’s Neue Klasse new generation models will be the first to feature EVE’s large cylindrical batteries.
As the new energy vehicle market continues to grow, EVE Energy will collaborate with partners to build a more sustainable ecosystem, “elevating new energy vehicles to new heights and powering the world with forward-moving energy.”
2. Green Breakthrough — Systematic ESG Strategy Addresses Global Carbon Barriers
In response to stringent requirements imposed by policies such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the “EU Battery and Waste Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542” on the export of Chinese lithium batteries, EVE Energy has adopted a “penetrative carbon reduction” strategy to achieve full life cycle compliance of its products, actively addressing the challenge of carbon footprint tracing extending upstream to minerals.
In 2023, EVE generated 105 million kWh of self-produced green electricity, and green certificate procurement covered 15% of its total electricity consumption, earning the company a place among the Top 100 Green Electricity (Green Certificate) Consumers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. For EVE Energy, purchasing green electricity is not only part of fulfilling its ESG responsibilities and supporting China’s “Dual Carbon” goals but also a necessary measure to meet the green entry requirements of international supply chains.
EVE continues to deepen its carbon footprint management. In 2024, it completed carbon footprint assessments for over 40 products, five of which obtained third-party verification certificates, and one received pre-approval certification under the new EU battery regulation. The company has traced data from more than 15 key suppliers to continuously explore carbon reduction potential within the supply chain and enhance low-carbon export competitiveness. EVE has been listed among the “Top 500 Global New Energy Enterprises” for three consecutive years and ranked first among lithium battery companies in the “Carbon Footprint Leadership of Chinese Enterprises” list.
In April 2023, the company proposed its “3040” carbon neutrality targets, aiming to achieve operational carbon neutrality by 2030 and value chain carbon neutrality by 2040—goals that are more ambitious than China’s national “3060” targets. The implementation pathway includes using 100% green electricity by 2030, covering over 20% of energy demand with green certificates by 2025, and establishing a traceable full life cycle carbon footprint system through direct green electricity connections and a “Battery Passport.” In November 2023, EVE’s NCM battery project was selected for the Global Battery Alliance (GBA) Battery Passport Pilot, laying a key foundation for market entry in Europe.
EVE is simultaneously advancing the construction of localized overseas production capacity, with production bases in Hungary and Malaysia, establishing a new model of “local production, global sales.” Through green technology R&D, it has launched high-efficiency, low-energy-consumption products such as the 628 Ah energy storage cell (Mr. Big), which achieves an energy efficiency of 96.2%, significantly improving energy storage economy and reducing indirect carbon emissions.
To address international trade barriers, EVE has incorporated green electricity usage and green certificate procurement into its supplier evaluation system, promoting full-chain carbon reduction through target setting, technical collaboration, and policy incentives. Despite tariff challenges, products like its large cylindrical batteries have received high recognition from international customers such as BMW, with exports maintaining volume and price growth. In Q1 2024, China’s lithium battery exports increased by 32% year-on-year, demonstrating strong international competitiveness.
Driven by both policy and capital, leading companies like EVE Energy are reshaping the global battery industry landscape through a low-carbon cooperation model of “Chinese technology + global capacity.”
